A Dispensing optician is trained to advise about, fit and supply the most appropriate spectacles for a prescription written by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

OPHTHALMOLOGIST

An Ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating eye diseases and performing eye surgery.
